Extension of the existing application system (Duravit in-house ERP system with warehouse management) by a radio data transmission module in the Duravit central warehouse.

  • Two-digit growth in profits of DURAVIT AG, manufacturer of bathroom fittings and equipment, resulted in quickly increasing numbers of incoming and outgoing goods. In order to manage these quantities in a controlled manner and to ensure replenishment in the picking area, the Duravit management decided to change the warehouse management to radio data transmission control.

  • KDL was asked to plan the introduction of the radio data transmission system and provided support in the subsequent introduction of radio data transmission control. The in-house IT dept. programmed the radio data transmission system.

  • In a first step after reviewing the actual situation consulting services included the preparation of a target concept and a profitability analysis. Further steps included advice concerning the hardware selection up to the preparation of the training and start-up concept.

In the summer of 2007 the radio data transmission system started operation in two steps without significant problems.
  • Step 1: Change to radio data transmission control in the incoming goods area.
  • Step II: Change to radio data transmission operation in the outgoing goods dept. including the following functions “paperless picking”, “replenishment in picking area out of reserve” and “removal of complete pallets”. Future planned system extensions include the use of radio data transmission control also for stocktaking and loading control. After the successful completion of the radio data transmission control project the DURALOG management will also rely on KDL’s know-how when it comes to extending the warehouse.
