  • Planning and feasibility analysis for a central warehouse for storage and distribution of products of a big retail chain, to be implemented in 3 stages with 120,000 pallet places each

    • connecting pallet conveyor technology
    • electric overhead conveyor
  • Development of DP concept
    • in-house host system
    • subordinate warehouse management computer incl. radio data transmission connection
    • additional material flow computer for control of conveyor technology incl. system

  • Extension of the building for integration of another big customer from the cosmetics industry
    • consideration of new requirements
    • especially handling of hazardous goods

Information about the system environment in phase 1
  • Building of a new warehouse: approx. 155,000 Euro pallets
  • Automated HBW: 155 m x 110 m = 17,000 sqm., approx. 130,000 Euro-pallets, 15 stacker cranes, 3 fire areas
  • Possibility to extend HBW: approx. 45,000 Euro-pallets
  • Electric overhead conveyor; 40 freely controllable racks
  • Other areas and block: 145 m x 145 m = 21,000 sqm., approx. 25,000 Euro-pallets
  • Incoming goods dept.: up to 5,000 pallets / day
  • Outgoing goods dept.: up to 5,000 pallets / day
  • Gates incoming/outgoing: 40

Project 2:

  • System comparison: automated HBW vs. radio data transmission operated narrow aisle warehouse
  • The aim of this consulting project was to create rules when it is more economical to fully automate a warehouse and under which conditions a radio data transmission operated narrow aisle warehouse is the more efficient solution
  • The following aspects were considered:
    • required pallet capacity
    • no. of incoming pallets / day
    • no. of outgoing pallets / day
    • picking available YES/NO
    • if YES, which picking share
    • other activities / value added services
  • Depending on these parameters, different charts were developed explaining up to which limit values the radio data transmission version is more favorable or vice versa, from which capacities automation is the best solution.
